  • Harry D. Dibble Memorial AwardHarry D. Dibble was an outstanding member of the Corfu-Pembroke Community for many years and this scholarship funded by the Family and Friends of Harry Dibble, has been presented since 2009. One $500 award is based on need, outstanding character, demonstrated skill and work ethic. It is presented to the student who will be attending a trade or vocational school and will be offered to a student who has shown ongoing commitment to the community of Pembroke and its People. The student must plan to remain Vested in the Pembroke Community in the future. The Endowment was provided by Mrs Maura Dibble who presents the award in Harry Dibble's memory. . . . . . . . . . edited 2015
     
  • Mruczek Family Scholarship - Medical  This scholarship was first awarded in 2016 and is given to a student planning to enter the MEDICAL or healthcare field. The student must have shown volunteering, dedication and academic success especially in the health field. Arthur W Mruczek Sr MD was a 1965 Graduate of Pembroke High School and in 2008 was a founding and charter member of the Dollars for Scholars program at Pembroke High School in June 2008. Following his friends Dr. Sydney McLouth and Catherine Haenle RN's values and dedication to help the sick, Pre-MD majors will have first preference followed by Nursing, then Dental and Paramedical Careers or a student interested in the medical field.   • Class of 1965 Dollars for Scholar Award   In 2008, the Corfu-Pembroke Class of 1965 Scholarship was established as the first Endowment Scholarship for Pembroke Dollars for Scholars Organization. The donations were gifted to the Dollars for Scholars with instructions to provide for future graduates. The award is given to a Graduating Senior with a passion for excellence with definite goals and direction for the future. It was designed by the class committee in accordance with the class 1965 membership. Criteria for the award include need, outstanding personal character, academic achievement and talent. It is a single $500.00 award offered annually and is funded by the members of the Corfu-Pembroke Class of 1965.. . .This years presenter is TBA . . . . . . edited 2015
     
  • Sophie J. Chmielewski Dollars for Scholars Award  When Walter Chmielewski contacted the Pembroke High School to announce funding for a Scholarship honoring his Mother Sophie, he attached an $11,000.00 check. Instructions were for DFS to establish a perpetual scholarship in her memory. The donor said, "I would like to think of my contribution as "seed money" which would be added to by others in the future." He refers to PHS as CHS as it was before the District merged the Corfu and Pembroke School Districts and adopted a new name.

  • Nichols Family Scholarship Dollars for Scholars Award    The Nichols Family Endowment Scholarship was established by Hall of Fame Member Steve Nichols to honor his father Fred Nichols for his service and commitment to the Corfu-Pembroke Community. This self-sustaining endowment scholarship provides one $500 award to a graduating senior who has strong academic skill, and has been involved in co-curricular activities during their high school career. The awardee must also demonstrate a commitment to post-secondary education. "A man who stops advertising to save money is like a man who stops a clock to save time." --Henry Ford
     
  • PHS Hall of Fame Dollars for Scholars Award This scholarship is given to students who are entering their first year at a Post-Secondary institution. Qualified candidates will either have shown leadership and personal skills while a student at Pembroke High School, or does not have the available resources to enter into a post-secondary institution. This scholarship is not based on current merit or grades, but more based on need.As members of the Corfu-Pembroke Hall of Fame were given the privilege of being selected and honored by their alma mater for worthwhile endeavors and life time achievements in our respective vocations and although varied, they share a common link they started our notable journey by attending the Corfu-Pembroke School District many years ago. Their schooling provided us with the opportunity to grow individually and become adults, achieving success and recognition as we matured in our chosen professions. Our displayed plaques in the Administration hall recognize these successes and seek to inspire the current student population to seek similar successful pathways.  
     
  • Corfu VFW Dollars for Scholar Award   The Cathie-Wild VFW Post met with the Dollars for Scholars Board in October of 2012 and voted to generously provide a Endowment Scholarship. The $1000.00 annual award is presented to a Pembroke Graduate who plans to pursue higher education at a two/four institution. This need based scholarship is given to students who are entering their first year at a Post-Secondary institution. Qualified candidates will either have a member of the family that has served in the military or recently involved in military service of the United States of America. This scholarship is not based on current merit or grades, but more based on need for a student who does not have the available resources to enter into a post-secondary institution.   • The Kelsey Milks Memorial Art Award in loving memory of Kelsey Milks. The Kelsey N. Milks Memorial Art Scholarship has been offered since 2012 in loving memory of Kelsey N. Milks who died tragically in an head on auto accident. This award is given to a student who has consistently demonstrated throughout high school to have a passion for the arts and has participated in a variety of the Art Classes offered at Pembroke High School. Kelsey had a passion for life and always wanted to do things to make the world a better place for all. This scholarship is offered and funded by an endowment from Kelsey's parents, Gregory and Roxane Milks and friends. . . . . . . . . . edited 2015
     
  • Alyson Diane Krzanak Scholarship  . The Alyson Diane Krzanak Scholarship was started in 2015 to commemorate Alyson Diane Krzanak, known as 'Aly Cat' to many, following a tragic auto accident This scholarship is given to students who are entering their first year at a Post-Secondary institution. Qualified candidates are interested in a Career as a Special Education Teacher and does not have the available resources to enter into a post-secondary institution. This scholarship is not based on current merit or grades, but more weight is given to aspirations toward the special education field.   • John W. Buyers Memorial Scholarship   A $1000 award offered to a student who has shown ongoing commitment to the community of Pembroke. Student plans to attend a college of their choice and is interested in pursuing a career in construction, mining, engineering, or the sciences. This scholarship is funded by County Line Stone in remembrance of its founder John W. Buyers Sr, a caring husband and father of four was born in Buffalo, NY on January 6th 1915. He along with his brother started AJ Buyers construction in 1946. While working in the construction industry Jack as he was known noticed a lack of customer service associated with the local quarry and stone suppliers. He explored interests in the town of Newstead and in 1959 started County Line Stone. The name was derived from the fact that the quarry lied on the county line between Erie and Genesee counties. The business today is in its 4th generation of the Buyers family and is one of the last remaining locally owned and operated quarries in the region. . . . . . . .The award from County Line Stone will be presented 
  • Lamb Agriculture Scholarship. Members of the Lamb family have attended the Corfu-Pembroke school district for more than 90 years. This scholarship was initially funded by David Lamb (PHS class of 1972) in 2021 to honor his parents, Gerald (Corfu class of 1939) and Grace Lamb, who passed in 2021, and his brother, Charles (PHS class of 1964), who passed in 1964. One $250 award will be made annually based on both need and merit to a student who will be continuing their education in a field related to agriculture.
  • Lamb Medical Scholarship. Members of the Lamb family have attended the Corfu-Pembroke school district for more than 90 years. This scholarship was initially funded by David Lamb (PHS class of 1972) in 2021 to honor his parents, Gerald (Corfu class of 1939) and Grace Lamb, who passed in 2021, and his brother, Charles (PHS class of 1964), who passed in 1964. One $250 award will be made annually based on both need and merit to a student who will be continuing their education in a field related to Medicine.

  • Corfu Pembroke Dollars for Scholars Award (four)  Two scholarship awards with varying monetary amounts (normally $250.00) have been given since 2008. These awards will be offered to students who have exhibited strong academic skills and have demonstrated a commitment to post-secondary education at a two or four year college.   • Corfu-Pembroke Alumni Memorial Award (four) The Corfu-Pembroke Alumni Association Scholarship has been awarded since the 1930's and an endowment fund was started in 2012 to perpetuate awards. This year two $1000.00 awards are presented to qualified graduates who display leadership, academic excellence, outstanding personal character, volunteerism and financial need. Recipients should must be accepted in a two or four year college or University. This scholarship is funded by the Corfu-Pembroke Alumni Association at their annual dinner meeting. . . . . . . . . . edited 2015
     
  • Buttercrumbs Bakery Recognition Scholarship Award (one) The $200.00 Tudor Doctor Recognition Award will be offered to students who has a definite plan for their Higher Education, demonstrate Leadership Abilities and Financial need. . The $200.00 award has been presented since 2011 by Mrs. Katleen Dethier founder and owner of "Tutor Doctor" educational services. It is presented as a Testimony to an Educator or Professional who is recognized for contributions to a graduating senior of Pembroke High School District. The award is funded by the "Tutor Doctor" and Katleen Dethier President to a senior who has shown dedication to human service and demonstrates academic skill. .   • Wood Legal Scholarship Ms. Heather Wood met with the Dollars for Scholars Board Representatives in April 2019 and generously offered to fund a pass thru scholarship to honor a Pembroke graduate Tyler Wood. The $250.00 will be awarded after completion of the first year of college will be called "Wood Legal Scholarship" and will be offered to a student who has shown a commitment to pursue a career in Law and related Legal Field Studies. The recipient must exhibit interest in the community of Pembroke and plan to attend a college of their choice This scholarship is funded by the Wood Family and will be offered starting in Fall of 2019 by board member Ms. Heather Wood. . edited 2019
