2026 CORFU-PEMBROKE DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WINNERS
On Thursday evening, June 4th, 22 members of the 2026 Pembroke High School graduating class shared 35 scholarship awards totaling $53,600. These awards were made available to our students through the generosity of many individuals, organizations, and local businesses. Facilitated by the Corfu-Pembroke Dollars for Scholars chapter, each applicant was rigorously evaluated based on each scholarship's grant criteria.
2026 marks the 17th year of such awards, now totaling $298,950 to 253 Pembroke graduates.
Each award winner also received a lawn sign to proudly display in recognition of their award-winning academic achievements.
The Corfu-Pembroke community at large and the Corfu-Pembroke Dollars for Scholars chapter gratefully acknowledge that were it not for the outstanding teachers, administrators, and support personnel throughout the Corfu-Pembroke school system, these results would not be possible. As parents ourselves, we also know that the "blood, sweat, and tears" of each student's parents is just as important, and equally indispensable. We should all feel proud of our individual contributions to the success of all our students. It really does take a village!
The process of how and when awards are paid out is quite simple. After completing at least one semester of post-secondary education, the award winner submits a transcript of their work to the Corfu-Pembroke Dollars for Scholars email (corfupembrokedfs@gmail.com) for review. Payment of scholarship funds are then sent to the business office of their educational institution for deposit. A modified time payment schedule will be tailored for any special student employment or trade school situations. Each award winner will be notified when award payments are pending.
